St Paul Renewal Centre
About this retreat
St Paul Renewal Centre sits on a quiet wooded rise above a small lake, a short drive from the nearest town and far enough from the highway that evening arrives without traffic noise. The main lodge holds a simple chapel with wooden pews, a reading room lined with Bibles and devotionals, and a long dining table set for shared meals. Guest rooms are plain and uncluttered, each with a desk, a window onto the trees, and no television. Gravel paths lead to a lakeside prayer bench, a covered outdoor chapel, and a short trail that loops through cedar and birch. Mornings are kept free for silence. Afternoons can hold a guided walk, lectio divina, or nothing at all. Groups of up to eighteen can book the whole house; smaller parties share the common rooms and keep their own schedule. The centre is run as a house of welcome: shoes off at the door, phones left in a basket if you wish, and meals cooked simply so conversation can stay at the table.
Mission
St Paul Renewal Centre exists so that people can step out of the noise of ordinary days and sit still before God. We open this house because the land, the quiet, and the chapel were given to us to share, not to keep. Guests are invited to pray, walk the lakeside path, rest, and eat together, trusting that unhurried time in a set-apart place can restore what hurry wears thin. We hope they leave carrying a quieter mind, a renewed desire for Scripture and prayer, and a clearer sense of God’s nearness that continues after they return home.
